The Boss Life Awards
It was a star studded event Sunday night, as Hollywood made its way to these H-Town streets. What could have Slim Thug, Bun-B Deshaun Watson, Floyd Mayweather, Lisa Raye McCoy and so many others traveling in the chill of January? Nothing, other than The Boss Life Awards, an event focused on providing scholarships to the youth.
Since it’s debut in 2012, the event has not disappointed and has now become the party of the year; Sunday night’s red carpet was only a testimony to the fact. The stars poured out, dazzling in variations of velvet, diamonds and fur, each one happy to support the city of Houston and the Boss Life Foundations scholarship endeavors.
The Core 94, spoke to the boss himself, Slim Thug, and while he was modest over a career in politics, stating ” I doubt I will ever seek a career in politics” followed by a coy smile, he did assure us that 2018 would be a year followed by even greater philanthropic efforts and continuing to provide a positive influence to the community. So here is hoping!!
106 and Park’s former host Julissa, definitely seems to be a fan. Drop dead gorgeous, Julissa arrived to SLAY; however, when asked what brought her out, she said it was Mr. Slim Thug himself; “You know what, Slim Thug invited me… he is a genuine person and is always the same any time I see him… I value people like that, and I love Houston”.
Miss Mykie, also from BET, was another major advocate for Slim Thug’s community outreach. “It’s always important for me to support my own city and my own, so I’m hear to support Slim,” And why wouldn’t she? The Boss Life Foundation’s goals are to help low income communities through education and research, as well as mentoring the youth. A relevant and necessary cause, that we all can get behind!
I doubt I will ever seek a career in politics” followed by a coy smile,
For a man not interested in politics, he definitely has a foot in the door, especially with friends like Shiela Jackson Lee, and Mayor Sylvester Turner joining in the festivities.
So what will it be fam? Slim thug for Mayor? He’s got my vote!
